What the banner does
A technical description of what the banner actually does and what it cannot do. We explain both, because the difference determines whether your setup works.
Blocking
Auto-blocking stops recognised dynamic scripts and frames before the request is sent. Static tracking scripts must be marked and the loader placed first. Unknown services and server-side tracking need separate measures.
Google Consent Mode v2
Google Consent Mode v2: six consent-controlled signals control advertising and analytics storage, ad data, ad personalisation, functionality and personalisation. Correctly configured Google Ads and GA4 tags follow consent. security_storage is granted; the other six start as denied.
Size, languages and list
22.3 KiB gzip for loader and banner combined in this build. Nordic blocklist: 135 blocking patterns, including Schibsted Pulse and Klarna On-site messaging. Banner languages: Norwegian Bokmål, Nynorsk, Swedish and English.
Consent log
Consent log with CSV export is included in Pro, Komplett and Agency; an add-on for Start and Pluss. Requires activated and verified CookieHawk logging. The log records received choices; it does not certify the entire website.
What the banner does not do
A box is not a legal approval. Tracking that runs through the website’s own server, services we do not recognise, and scripts added outside the setup must be handled separately. That is why we test the site afterwards and show what actually happened.

Will we be compliant in 5 minutes?
No. A snippet can be added quickly, but services, text, blocking and withdrawal need setup and testing. We document technical observations; the website owner retains responsibility.
Will we lose Google Ads data?
Consent Mode v2 passes choices to Google Ads and GA4. With correct tag setup, measurement can run when the visitor consents. Rejection means less data; we do not promise full coverage, modelling or better ad results.
Do I get a cookie declaration for my website?
From Start, the test supplies a cookie inventory: name, provider, duration and purpose, grouped by category. Insert one line of code; it updates with each check. Unknown cookies are marked “unclassified” and need confirmation.
Where is the data stored?
Choices are stored in the browser. The optional consent log on EU servers contains a random identifier that can link choices to the same browser. These are pseudonymous personal data. We do not store the IP address in the consent entry itself. Delivery of entries can fail.
